Hukilau – to fish with the seine

Paradise Cove keeps the traditions of old Hawai’i alive with our nightly Hukilau on the beach. Guests are invited to participate in the ceremonial pulling of the fish nets to the rythms of the conch shell and Hawaiian chants.

I recently enjoyed the Luau at Paradise Cove. It was fantastic in every way. The setting is well maintained and beautifully designed and takes advantage of a sunset over the water.
The food was beautifully prepared and very fresh and I appreciated the the info provided for each dish eg gluten free.
The Polynesian crafts offered before the show were well run and informative, there was something for everyone.
The music, dance and singing were enjoyable but the special event of the night had to be the amazing fire dancer, fantastic performance, definitely the best I’ve ever seen.
And a special thank you to Cousin Flo a very talented warm and friendly young woman who was the host of our bus and informed us so well of the tour process and kept us on track with events during the night. I would highly recommend this Luau.

So happy with everything as a whole! We got the Orchid package with transportation. Captain Riki was a great driver and Cousin Mo was amazing! The Luau was beautiful. There were many photo spots for amazing photos. The food was yummy. The show was beautiful. You get a Mai Tai as you walk in and a card with enough for 2 more drinks. After the Luau our bus was the party bus. Cousin Mo was hilarious we sang the whole way home and wanted to stay on the bus longer. Mahalo!

What an amazing experience! It is such a beautiful location and an amazing atmosphere. One thing I do wish is that they had more polynesian history involved. But they're limited by time, so I get it. You will not be disappointed one bit by the show. The view and location is stunning! Parking is free. Or at least included into the price. Which is a nice touch because you will spend plenty of money parking around the island. The 13 business capitalists that overthrew the Hawaiian kingdom in the 1800s via coup really taught them how to make a buck.

This Luau is awesome! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The location was gorgeous, it is right on the ocean so there are many opportunities to get your own beautiful family photos. It is a big space so it never felt crowded. I gave it 4 stars only because it is about a 40 min drive away from Waikiki (with traffic doubles time) but totally worth it in my opinion. There are pre-show activities, bracelet making, spear throwing and a canoe ride so arrive when doors open to take advantage. The show was absolutely beautiful. They perform dances from several polynesian islands and invite guests to participate. The food was great! There is a wide variety of meats, salads and desserts and it was all delicious. We paid for table service and our server was great but distracted in the beginning so we got our food later than others. Otherwise she was attentive and friendly. There is a gift shop with a variety of items so you can get all your souvenir shopping done also. Absolutely recommend.

The Paradise Cove Luau is a beautiful show that celebrates many Polynesian cultures from around the Pacific Rim. They give you a free drink upon entry. Dinner is buffet style. At some point in the show, they bring 80 volunteers on stage to learn the luau which is the picture that looks like a rock concert. Very beautiful and serene location. The event transports you to a bygone era of traditional Hawaiian times and lifestyle. Stay away from the poi 😂

Organized fairly well for how many people attend. This includes excursions arriving by buses (2-3). Check in was quick. We had 3 families in our group and they were able to sit us together even though booked separately. Parking is slightly far for elderly//people with difficulty walking. Luckily we arrived earlier than our group to let them know to drop off their nana at the front with us while they parked. At check in you receive a card good for $12 to use on a drink or souvenir. This is in addition to the drink they give you when you walk in (punch or mai tai which was more of a rum punch). Deluxe seating got flower lei (ladies) and nut lei (men). Regular seating got shell leis. They have plenty of things to do upon arriving, including making a leaf headpiece, body tattoo - free but tips accepted; photos with beautiful scenery ($20 you can pick up at break, came with 5x7, 4x6, 4 wallets - and so worth it) there will also be an opportunity after the pig roast to get a picture with the fire dancers, which I was very sad. We didn’t wait in line for. you could also had an experience and photo opportunity with parrots, which I think cost but not sure .They have vendors selling handmade leather crafts and jewelry in addition to the gift store. Bathrooms were plentiful (24 stalls give or take in women’s) and clean. Remember you are at an outside event. Bug spray suggested. I forgot and got a handful of bites by the pig roast area. The terrain ranges from dirt/sand/grass. To see the hula, the raining of flowers and the pig roast you had to walk to those areas if your party has someone with limited mobility. Note the chairs are the plastic outside chairs and not the sturdiest. Food is served buffet style. They have each section go so not overly crowded. You are able to get 2nds. They have allergens marked. I’m mostly vegan and they actually had some stuff marked. Still question the accuracy a bit on certain stuff as vegan. Salad, pastas, rice, chicken, fish (really good), and pork. The pork was dry from what my husband said, and everyone in our group would have liked to have some sort of sauce like barbecue with it. The salmon was in something like a ceviche that I had almost missed it. If someone didn’t point, it out was not that great. I thought the entertainment was great and they involved the crowd. The venue was beautiful even with us having not so great weather with it being windy, cloudy and had a little bit of a drizzle. I would write the food as just OK, and not the reason for attending. Overall, we enjoyed our time and without having one to compare it to. I felt it ran a bit long (but still was jet lagged) but for the price paid at least it was not short. I would definitely recommend. That dancers were amazing.Because traffic is iffy and we were staying about 45 minutes away. We arrived early. It is near the Disney resort and there is a good shopping area with food and clothing that we enjoyed walking through to kill time. It is paid parking, but it wasn’t expensive and you use your app to pay to park in the shopping area.

This was an epic night with a lot of wonderful memories made. The food was delicious. The gift shop was surprisingly affordable. The events were all beautiful and entertaining. They brought in things from various pacific cultures and gave proper credit to each of those cultures and had entertainers from the various locations as well. It’s not to be missed when you visit Hawaii!
